
Meet Yancale
Yancale was born in a small town named Karkur in Israel. Cantor Baris
His parents, both of Rumanian descent were his
inspirations in
developing his talent. Pinchas Baris, his father,
came from four generations of cantors. His mother Esther,
was descended from a family of rabbis including the famous
author Rabbi Moshe Brezel.
In his youth his voice was his signature amazing all who heard him. At his Bar Mitzvah he surprised everyone with his perfect cantorial leading of the entire Shabbat service. Many knew at this special moment that this child was destined to greatness. Upon turning sixteen Baris' voice was ready for training under the supervision of Avraham Margalit, a professional voice tutor.
Upon returning from three years in the IDF
(Israeli Defense Force), Yancale began developing
his music career to a greater extent. After recording
three successful records in Israel his popularity
began to rise. His career took him across the world
to Switzerland, South Africa, Canada and the United
States. He also performed in the famous synagogues
in Herzelia, Karkur, Ramat Gan the the Tel Aviv Hilton.
His dynamic, tenor voice gained him entree to working with Shimon Kugel,
a famous American Jewish music revival artist, as well as composers
Moshe Laufer, Erez Sirotkin and Reuven Sirotkin.
Yancale has been the cantor in New York City for ten years. In addition to this position he performs professionally around the United States, Europe and Israel.
His musical gift is real and it is his ideal to devote his life to enriching the lives of others through music.
